The five Hakomi principles.

Rooted in Compassion

The Hakomi Method invites us to slow down, become aware, and gently notice what arises in our embodied experience. Grounded in curiosity and care, my approach is deeply influenced by these five principles, and together, they foster a therapeutic space that is spacious, safe, and warm.

Whether we work individually or in groups, I hold each of these principles as living, breathing guides that gently shape every exploration in our sessions. Let’s move through them together, allowing them to unfold in their own time.

Hakomi’s Five Principles, Gently Described

Mindfulness means resting attention in the present, noticing thoughts, sensations, and feelings as they arise—without striving or judgment. This gentle awareness becomes a doorway to deeper understanding and transformation.

Organicity honors the natural intelligence within each of us, trusting that healing follows its own rhythm. I support clients in uncovering their own answers and allow the process to move at the pace that feels right.

Unity, non-violence, and loving presence are woven throughout the work. We become aware of the ways everything is interconnected, ensure the space is safe and gentle, and hold each other in warmth and respect. These qualities foster openness, kindness, and compassion during each session.
